Lasik Treatment, The Better Way For The Better Vision

Back in 1960, a Spanish ophthalmologist, Jose Barraquer, introduces the Lasik technology for the first time. By developing the first microkeratome which was used to change the shape of cornea, he invented the helpful aid to people who lacks of visibility. In the old days, spectacles are the only tool for people to view more clearly. As the time goes, contact lenses were the best alternatives for people who wanted to get rid their spectacles.
However, these contact lenses are not always the convenient option since a lot of care should be taken when people decide to use them. The size of contact lenses is so tiny that people would have chance to lose them. They also should be taken carefully whenever you need to wear it to your eyes, so it wouldn’t drop onto the floor and carelessly damaged itself. Contact lenses are not available to wear all day long since you need to put it off when going to sleep.
Thus, all the contact lenses inconvenience become the main reason why people choose lasik treatment to correct their vision without hassle. People don’t have to wear anything because they don’t need them anymore. As the laser beam is introduced, the process of the treatment become simpler and the treatment cost is more affordable. People can easily throw off their glasses and prefer to undergo the laser surgery which spans only in minutes to have a more convenient life.
Whenever someone decided to run for a laser surgery, they would be performed in 2 stages of operation. The first step is creating a flap of corneal tissue in which corneal suction ring is applied to the patient’s eye. While in this process, bleeding may occur since the blood vessel gets burst. The second step, excimer laser is used to remodel the corneal stroma. The Lasik surgery in this stage is used for vaporization of tissues in a controlled manner and then layers of tissues are removed which are tens of micrometers thick. At this stage, the patient’s vision would become blurry which they could only sees white light around the laser.
